WFP HungerMap LIVE
A data platform uses AI and statistical models to make current food insecurity and potential deterioration visible.
About
WFP refreshed HungerMap LIVE in April 2026, when the release cited more than 50 countries. The current official landing page now reports coverage of 95+ countries. The platform combines surveys, market prices, conflict, weather, and other data into current estimates and outlooks. Models fill gaps between measurements and help flag potential hotspots. The map supports analysts and aid organizations, but does not automatically determine where aid goes, and remains dependent on incomplete data.
AI factor
In crisis regions, surveys are often scarce or delayed. Models can combine different data sources and produce a preliminary estimate between measurements; experts review uncertainty, local context, and changes before decisions are made.
