TrailGuard AI
A hidden camera recognizes local animals or people and sends only relevant footage directly to rangers and nearby residents.
About
TrailGuard AI combines an energy-efficient camera trap with on-device image recognition and a mobile or satellite connection. In a peer-reviewed trial in Indian tiger habitats, the system quickly sent footage of tigers and possible poachers to the appropriate teams. This can support protection and warnings about human-wildlife conflicts. The camera does not by itself stop poaching or incidents; a well-trained response team remains essential.
AI factor
Ordinary camera traps store many empty or irrelevant images that are only reviewed later. Edge-AI filters directly for chosen species or human presence and sends only a possible threat, after which people assess the alert and act.
