Microsoft Seeing AI uses a phone camera to read short text aloud, scan documents, recognize products, and describe scenes. The app is available for iOS and Android. User research shows such features can support independent action, but automatic recognition remains error-prone and does not replace human help in risky situations.
AI factor
Image recognition and language models convert camera images into spoken information. This allows users to carry out many everyday visual tasks independently, while deciding themselves when additional checking or help is needed.
