A user photographs a letter and receives a short explanation in simple language. Read Simply can also read the text aloud or translate it. According to an impact validation commissioned by the foundation, the app has been downloaded more than 240,000 times and over 1.4 million texts have been simplified. The commissioned validation reports, based on usage data, five user interviews, a survey of 95 professionals, and two additional interviews, indications of better understanding, less stress, and more experienced independence; this is not a causal effect measurement. In important decisions, the original letter remains the reference.
AI factor
A language model summarizes the photographed text and converts it into simpler Dutch. The user or professional checks amounts, dates, and required actions in the original letter.
