Many smallholder farmers lack a formal credit profile and are therefore excluded from bank loans. Apollo combines farmer data with satellite, weather, and agricultural data to assess risk and offer suitable products. During the growing season, farmers receive practical advice on their phones.
AI factor
The farmer provides local knowledge and decides on what to grow. Models aggregate scattered data sources for credit risk and advice; human teams design the products and must ensure that exclusion and errors are identified.
